Why Use MSM Plus?

MSM is a form of sulfur used by your body to support growth and maintenance of the connective tissue in your body such as cartilage, ligaments, tendons and bones. What Is MSM Plus?

MSM (methylsufonylmethane) is organic sulfur in its natural form. Your body uses this form of sulfur to help form glycosaminoglycans or GAGs. The GAGs are spongy molecules that hold water to provide lubrication to the joints and act as “shock absorbers.” GAGs are the basic substrate of cartilage, ligaments, tendons and bones. During the day, connective tissue is constantly being broken down and replaced so there is a constant need for adequate supplies of sulfur. The GAG chains not only fill the spaces between our cells, they allow the transmission of nutrients, hormones, and metabolites between the blood and tissue cells. Dr. Jacobs is an expert in the field of DMSO and MSM. In his book, he indicates that the common reaction might be gastrointestinal disturbance (or rash in the most rare case) and suggests that if it creates a problem, to suspend dose and try again with smaller amount in a few days. It is commonly used for people with allergies of all types. It is NOT at all related to a Sulfa drugs or Sulfites.

Many uses for MSM are relayed in Dr. Jacob's book. One of those mentioned in the book relates to Scar Tissue. The book states, "MSM does not eliminate scarring, but it helps, and even many years after the formation of a scar, it may alter scar tissue in a positive manner." The book says, "MSM's ability to reduce scars occurs both externally and internally." It is also stated that, "MSM acts before and after procedures to minimize the amount of scar tissue."
